I just want to add one more point: feeling tired/unable to continue in such sports as long-distrance running is more psychological/emotional than physical.
I guess your slump is not only physical... but there's no better way out of it than regular training.
excercise for 30 mins daily and push yourself to the limit once a week. soon, you'll find yourself wanting to do more
