Your engine is a Zetec. The ZX2 did use Zetec as well (not sure if they had other engines). VCT or Variable Cam Timing is primarily an emmisions feature that deleats the EGR (nice), added to the Focus Zetec engine (not sure if 2000 Contour Zetecs got it as well)..
