hey, this stuff is gunna sound rice or somthing, but how do you remove the back seat from a 98.5 Contour? i can pull it up, but how do i get the seatbelts off and the back of the seat, and what else can i do to remove "weight" even if its only going to remove 20lbs, i just dont want it in there because i have no use for it.
Also, i was seriously thinking of removing the door trim from my car, and possibly the pin striping, has anyone removed the pin striping? how do i get it off? thanks.

There is a use for your back-seat . What do you mean by 'door trim'? If you mean the door-dings then there is a write-up in FAQ (on the main page) on how to get it off. It should be a two hour job, tops.
97' 2.5L Contour SE -T-Red Midas exhaust (grr...), Sony CD player, K&N airfilter, Mobil One Synthetic Oil, removed intake resonator, modified MAF, in-fender CAI, painted grill, Platinum tipped NGK's. You could always take out the spare tire and jack. I wouldn't really recommend it, but it would save alittle weight. You could also take the hood liner off.

(kidding) Would this make the car appear lighter, with enough helium in your tires you could take some serious weight off On the other hand too much and you'd lose traction.....lol

You planning to race? Be careful not to bump yourself to a higher class. All classes have restrictions on what can be removed.
