Andy W. The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

And what do you think the World Series is this year? Something grand that everyone from sea to shining sea was super-excited for? Nope. Like Andy said, you Bostonians need to get over yourselves.

A buncha people were all excited and stuff here, I'm not sure why. (Of course another, larger group didn't care) I think it was just a reason for them to get drunk, so yeah I guess it was a good reason.

You need a reason to get drunk?

Yes, though one of the reasons is often: to get drunk.

No I don't, but when is a sports event ever like that? The point is that as far as sporting events in America go, this was one of the biggest nights in the past 25 years. I am simply talking about the sports world. Is it going to change the course of history , probably not. at any rate, i would love to hear what everyone else considers major sports events of the past 25 years

I've got to strongly disagree with you here. Nearly any fan of the sport of baseball (clearly you do not fall into this catagory) realizes that this is indeed something grand. It is a big deal, and its more than just Bostonians that realize it.

I agree, there are a fair amount of ESPN Lemmings out there. Sure, baseball fans appreciate when something out of the ordinary happens. The Red Sox winning the World Series is no grander a story than the Florida Marlins last year, who went from the cellar to World Series championships with Grandpa Jack as manager. To think the whole nation celebrated this win, like DJ CAPP would have you believe, is ridiculous.

Bwahahahahaha!!!! You're are truly disconnected; but that's ok, it's to be expected of someone so far up GWB's butt.

The story of the Red Sox transcends baseball because it's a story of the long-time losers FINALLY winning. There are teams like the Sox in every sport. Teams with a history of coming oh-so-close. The Sox, with their habit of blowing it, were the posterchild for capable teams that couldn't win the big ones. That they finally did makes their win such a big deal.
