I was reading a post in the archives and I came across this post... First impressions of the SVT At the end of the post, the user points out that the contour will be reintroduced in the US in 2k5... is this true? if it is, SIGN ME UP for one.

I'm pretty sure the Mondeo is not coming to NA, but maybe an SVT version of the Fusion?

The current Mondeo in EUR is already outdated, to be replaced soon. Ford has the Five Hundred already and the Fusion coming for 2006. It's time to get over the Mondeo.  I am still amazed that so called "car fans" still don't know what is really going on with the real car market.

Heck, they're starting to show up at the dealerships along with the new 'stang. They may be just for previewin though til the actual shipments of cars arrive.

I would doubt a reintroduction anyways...Ford's "6 new cars" coming out, I doubt they'd bring a 7th into production, especially if it's a throwback...

The Ford Fusion, due as a 2006 model, is the closest the US is going to get to another contour or a mondeo.
Fwiw, the Fusion is going to be great "spiritual successor" to the Contour, and will be a part of a broad family of vehicle design, so hopefully, there will be a large pool of OEM parts to pull from for the gearheads to "upgrade" with.
