Well that's easily fixed, get the User Agent Switcher extension.. fools your banking software into thinking you have IE.

Also, to the people having trouble with the scrolling wheel, I believe there's an extension to take care of that too.

This isn't through any kind of banking software. It's just a web site you log onto and do basic stuff on.

I meant the banking webpage. When you go to the bank's webpage, it asks your browser for its user agent string, which identifies what browser you're using. The user agent switcher lets you pick what you want that string to be, so you could set it to tell websites that its actually IE.

I use Mozilla/Firefox on Redhat

my problem with it is that not all pages are displayed correctly and it takes some of the features that IE has away.

I personally prefer Avant Browser but its not out for Linux.

Sweet! I knew that the browsers had some kind of built in identification string but I never knew how to change it. Thanks a bunch, now I guess the only thing I have to use IE for is Windows update!

The ONLY sites that Firefox hasn't worked for me is WindowsUpdate.com and the KB search feature on support.microsoft.com.

Firefox supports all OFFICIAL web standards. IE does too, but it has all this proprietary Microsoft standards that it has too. Sites that use those UNOFFICIAL standards are the sites that wont show up right or work right with Firefox.

Next time you find a site that doesnt work right with Firefox, blame the website builders who have their kneepads on for Bill Gates. They should be building websites based on REAL standards anyway.
