Oh man my friend has a stage 3+ The car is jsut a monster , espeially in the top end. He "blew" his tranny, by that i mean a hole in it from a dowel flying out of the flywheel. 10,000 to get a tranny put in at the dealer. He got hooked up tho, got an rs4 tranny installed for free by the flywheel company. If the car had a higher redline it would sound just like an f1 car, sounds sweet.

Congrats on the 2000 S4, i was thinking, it's one of the few V6 FI cars on the market today (by FI, I mean turbo, those merc s/c don't count!)

There's SO MUCH aftermarket hype on those, don't know if you're going to venture into it, but WOW, slap on some new turbos, new intercoolers, and RS4 piggyback ECU and you're clocking 12's!!

Sorry to see it go. . .

Well, I have to say that I have no major plans with mods, as the Contour jaded me pretty badly. I got about 4K for a car that I easily have 42K into. That is just not right... I got the S4 for fun and reasonable reliability. I will be easy on the Trans as to avoid that issue. I have another 25K miles on the powertrain and turbos so we shall see. Other than that, they are not as prone to the typical VW issues (switches breaking and such) as they were built in Germany and not Mexico. The car has been so well maintained and is clean in every way, aside from some wheel scuffs from some jackass poorly parralell parking. Anyone know how to pull a carfax? I'd like some history.

Congrats on the new car, I am a huge fan and a frequent troll on audiworld. Definitely get diverter valves to save the turbos, and I certainly would not chip it unless you have the money to replace the turbos at some point. It is a great car that absolutely BEGS to be modded. I don't know if you have the car yet, but you will soon notice that it needs a short throw shifter and springs. The car should have come from the factory with these two things. Good luck if you have any questions feel free to ask.

I have it. Got it Saturday. It is Laser Red. A short Throw is the first mod I will do. The ride is nice, but yes, it could use some Neuspeed Springs. Where is a good place to start with modding it. I will keep it very mild. I logged onto Audiworld, but is is a really cumbersome board... Didn't like it.
