"The Little Brown Jug is more important than the Paul Bunyan trophy" -Lloyd Carr I was accepted to U of M, but my parents made too much money for financial aid and I couldn't make enough to pay the tuition. Oh well, I probably would have dropped out anyway. Anywho, your comment about graduating from the University has as much of a point as Rawburt's life. I am a Lions fan through and through, yet I never worked for Ford, the Lions, or played for the Lions. And I became a fan of Michigan after a loss, not a win. Why are MSU fans always so whiny? The chicks there are much more bone-able unless you are into big nosed chicks who couldn't get into Hah-vid. You'd think with all that hot *****, you'd all be layed back not caring about anything...

No, collegiate sports are the same as pro. You may have school pride, but that would apply to only a small portion of any college teams fans. Without the other 90% of the fans, college football would be as popular as college tennis.

I agree, if it were not for other fans do you think the Big House would be at capacity every weekend??
Just look at the pics taken from the blimp every Saturday; the students take up about 1/6th of the stadium. The rest are general admissions, and not all of them are Alumni.
I went to the University of Western Australia, but I'm a Wolverine fan - so bite me!

MSU must just be different then. we sell out our stadium (and recently had to expand it!) and at least 80-90% of the crowd is students, allumni, and family.
whatever... dave ruined my thread. i wanted this to be a good joke thread going back and forth between spartan and wolverine fans.... apparently that ain't a-happenin!
so screw you guys.... i'm going home!

Now that we've discussed the UM-MSU game ad nauseum, let's move on to the REAL intrastate rivalry game going on this weekend: Western Michigan University vs. Central Michigan University.
Let's go Broncos!!!! (and yes, I did go there... so I'm allowed to root for them...)

We don't have a football team...but I greatly enjoy my lower tuition costs associated with that.

Kettering University's Football team is undefeated. Granted it was their only game back in 1919, but hey, its a record none the less.
