i was entering the free way and the car kinda cuts out sometimes it will stall on acceleration going into the free way catching up to speed. could this be the fuel pump or the filter? 2000 contour se zetec

could def be the fuel pump.

Or if you have a CAI, your computer wasn't calibrated properly. Or you reset your computer 1 or 2 days ago. Sounds like fuel starvation, but does it stall when it's WOT in town? Or only at high speeds?

well my car has 79k i think its time for one. its just weird that it cuts out

This happens to me a lot whenever the car is under a quater full of gas. Also I notice more and more now that if you hit the gas sometimee it feels like there is a lead weight in the back and the damn thing barely moves.

Have you cleaned out your MAF sensor lately?

Change the fuel filter maybe. Any time you let the gas run low, it could be sucking sh!t in from the bottom of the tank, and when you hit the gas, and need more flow, the clogged filter could be holding it back. For only about $7, it is worth a try. It is back by the passenger rear tire, IIRC.

do they have a high performance one? (fuel filter)

well its not as bad now i blew my filter our a couple weeks ago with an air nozzle for temp fix but not its like it wants to cut out when i floor it it goes but it feels like someone rear ended me but it doesnt stall this time just one jerk
