I installed the power amp, getting the power from battery. Got the power through the wiper crow plug hole. Did not start the car for 3 days while taking the time installing the amp and wiring. During that time, doors/trunk opened for long time, power seat move up/down. After everything completed. The amp works fine.
Wanted to back car out of the garage. The car won't start. It makes loud click noise and the wiper swipes regardless. Lights, fan, turn signal everything electric thing seems to work. I notice the lights dimming when test the amp.
Other than removed the wiper may touch or the wiper wire but I doubt I touch any other wire, short circuit and any wire.
Desperate need help! What should I check first? and move forward from here.

search similar problem on site, seems like the battery is low on voltage. can I still jump start the car? will it damage any thing?
Just want to be sure the symptom is not that accidentally shorting the electrical system while installing the power wire for the amp.

Mine does that when the battery is almost dead. Try jump starting it, but put the negative jumper cable on something metal rather than the battery.

Is one of the things you just installed drawing power from the battery when the ignition is off? You want to avoid that scenario, unless of course if it is an alarm or something similar that needs to have constant power but does not draw much current.

I agree, this is low voltage on the battery. You might have to get another battery. Get the highest CCA you can that will fit. Also, make sure there is not a constant drain from your new amp. Try posting on the audio forum.

Could also be a bad battery connection. Make sure you've got good contact with both the positive and negative terminals before you do anything else. Then try to jump and recharge the battery.

The battery was dead last week when my son left the lights on at the train station parking. We jump start the car and it runs for the week until I decided install the sub woofer for my son.
The battery only have 3 volts with the meter. I am at ease now that the wiper cycle turns out to be the signal of low voltage. I think the battery toasted. It is a 98 original battery, better change it before winter.
Spent whole day trying get the battery out. I have to remove the air filter just a room to get to the back side battery holder screw. The screw ceased on positive side pole, I could not twisted left/right to make it loose. Why they have to clip on the side of the battery. Spending almost 5 hours to cut the screw, I took my time not to cut any hose or wire.
Will install a new battery tomorrow and hope that is only problem.

See if the battery voltage is about 14 volts whith the car running. If so, it's charging OK.
