Something I have seen people do is, stick several capacitors in line with the power to the alarm. That way it will still power the alarm for several minutes even if the power is cut. Most people dont' look for this. It will keep the alarm alive even when there is no longer power. But only for a few short seconds once it does go off. but usually its enough to scare them or wake your ass up or someone else.
I have a backup battery on my alarm.
i did that too. and added the loudest airhorn i could find. when my alarm went off, you could hear it in my 3rd story apartment from my underground parking. loud and clear!
i like 98 SE's idea of disconnecting the trunk release. i never use it. of course i havent installed my system in my tour yet..
