all judges were lawyers once. no lawyer will take your traffic case without you paying him up front. the only lawyers who do contingency cases do this because YOU stand to win money, which they will get a percentage of (ie Personal Injury). typicaly, hiring a lawyer to represent you for a DUI can cost about $2k or more. just to represent you for this ticket will cost at least $500 or so. seriously, i think its a waste of money to fight a $250 ticket (if you can do traffic school) or fight it yourself. its a big gamble. call around to some attorney's offices and just ask if they can and what the estimated cost would be. dont pay for any consulations either. many attorneys will do a 1/2 hour consult for free. just grab a phone book and get to work. you would do some research if you were going to buy a used car wouldnt you? do some research with this.
