The clip I listened to was audio only (no pictures, so no relevance to bp vest) which appears to reveal a "voice" speaking GWB's words, moments before he does.

I suppose the context is that someone is reading him his speech (perhaps over the wireless translation earclip) and he is reciting it.

Could mean someone else is speaking for him ... could mean he didn't have time to memorize his speech and this is nothing more than an audio prompter.

Given the context and the situation, it doesn't mean much either way IMO.

BTW - this was not during the debate, it was during a press conference in a foreign country - Russia, I think.

This is different than that particular rumor. Seems that somone was feeding Bush his lines at some sort of foreign press conference and that a fair amount of bleedthrough took place over the speakers.

This is the first I've seen of it. What I find odd is that Bush kept glancing down as if reading lines. Why would he do this if someone was feeding them to him?

Odd.

I wonder if Bush is the first president to ever have people help him answer questions in a news conference. Some reason I don't think he is...

He had to do something while he was listening.
He also did that a lot during the first debate. So much so that I thought he had notes in front of him. I didn't realize at the time that no notes were allowed.
Now for the record, I don't think that anyone was feeding him lines during the debate, but his behavior looked similar.

They were taking notes during the debate so they could remember what to rebut on.

Andy W. The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

Plain & simple, it's just another made up Kerry thing to bash Pres. Bush. That's all they do. They have no plan for anything, and even his "plan" for Iraq is what Bush is doing right now, but according to Kerry, if Bush does it, it's nothing, but if HE does it, it's the greatest plan in the world.

I would like to see 1, just 1 Kerry speech where he doesn't constantly bash Bush, or claim that he's "wishy washy" because Bush didn't find WMD. God knows I am only dreaming though, that will never happen. Kerry can't make a speech without bashing Bush. It just won't happen.
