Anybody have this problem? If it rains I get into my car and the carpet is soaked infront of the drivers seat. I replaced the seal around the door opening, as well as the one that goes over the top of both doors.
I noticed that it is some how coming through the door. There will be a puddle of water ontop of the door seal and a little stream that goes over the door sill moulding and onto the carpet.
Is there another seal on the door like the one at the bottom of the window that may be leaking?? I cant figure it out, I thought water in the door was supposed to drain out the vents at the bottom of the door (which are not clogged)

any ideas?

What about a windshield leak near the bottom corner of the driver's side? It'll go beind the dash and the left front kick panel, and roll off the door seal. Also, there is a weathersheet between the door and door panel. It needs to be intact. And one more thing to check is the belt molding at the bottom of the driver's door glass for warpage and adequate sealing..

I have the same problem, exactly. I am going to try to pull the door panel off tonight if I get the chance and see if I can determine where it is leaking from. Please post if you find the fix.

So should try to dry off carefully all the weather strips, carpet, etc and with your garden hose splash your car locally and go inside and try determine where the water comes from.

Nic.

I pulled the door apart and found that the poly seal foam thing had come off near the bottom right above where I usually see the water leaking over the door sill. I resealed with some 3M sealant and am waiting for the next rain.

I had the same problem. I rotated the seal on the car and i haven't had any problems. it seems to rain only in the early mornings around here and so I catch the ran running down the plastic piece on the side down into the carpet. it hasn't leaked since.

Well looks like it still leaks. Guess I'll try rotating the seal too.

Bump.

I have leaks coming into my passenger footwell as similar to above described. It's getting so bad now that I have a small pool of water there after it rains. Next day it is warmish and I have spare time (during daylight hours) I am going to perform the water hose diagnosis as suggested.

The reason I'm bumping this topic is because the leak almost appears to be coming from behind my glove compartment rather than through the door - the carpet is damp all the way up to that corner (as if water drips there and then runs down to near the seat where it pools up). Are there any particular areas I should look for when diagnosing this, given these characteristics? I will of course pop out the glove box and look behind there but want to know if there are any particular seals in that area that could be worn.

Thanks

Leaking down onto the floor from behind the dash...I would definately check the windshield. Will run down the post and behind dash. Have you had a windshield replaced lately?

With two of you try running a hose over the car for a long time, and sit inside looking for the puddle to form. Once you find it begin to form you should be able, with luck, to trace it.
I'm not sure how this will work for you, but I use this trick to test if the trunk leaks before buying a used vehicle.
