A 160 mile commute is better than say 30 miles in the city. Longer commutes would not be a deciding factor for engine to blow becuase there is MUCH LESS wear and tear on the engine. Failing components would be it, or if you are a hard accelerator, y'know, like to get on it HARD and floor it down the offramp or something like that. THat can cuase you to burn oil up a bit (since the duratecs do that) and possibly fry your rings. But I dunno, I don't know what caused your engine to blow. It sucks, though.
