I bought a new SVT/ST200 upper intake manifold from another CEG member, but when it arrived two pipes were sticking out of the box. Yes the package was insured, but since I didn't see any obvious damage I made no claim aginst FedEx. The other day I was packaging up the manifold to send it to Extrude Hone and I noticed a small crack in the pipe that comes out directly below the throttle body inlet. Ford sell this pipe - as a part of the manifold assembly! Is this pipe the same on both a standard and SVT manifold? IF I can get my hands on a new pipe can someone replace it for me? Has anyone else had this problem? If so what did you do?

I really don't want to buy another new manifold, I already have $480 in this one.

If it's the brass pipe you could seal the crack shut with a smear of JB weld. That'd be fine.

It is cracked right in front of the flair where it goes into the the manifold and it is about 1mm to 1.5mm in length. I have close-up pictures of the crack, but for some reason I couldn't get them attached to my post. I can e-mail them, I just can't post them.

if the crack doesnt go very far go ahead and stop drill the crack so it wont migrate. you could torch it out i guess or cut it and get an extention permaswaged on the ol pipe. no big deal. since its copper or brass you could ask some one to braze it but i would go that far with it. just stop drill it and youll be fine.

I received a message from someone telling me that he has a "standard" upper intake manifold he would sell cheap. Is the pipe the same for both the standard and SVT manifolds? If so does anyone know someone that can replace the pipe without destroying the new SVT manifold?
