After reading through the generation debate a few weeks ago I saw a test from the late 1800's IIRC. Well I saw this on MSN:

8th Grade Math test

I have to say that that test is much harder than the test that was posted. The comment from the post was that each generation was getting lazier and dumber (IIRC), well this test is much more challenging than the previously posted test. Just an example that each generation is getting smarter.

Getting smarter as far as book smarts, I wouldn't say we're getting any smarter with common sense and other useful stuff. Obviously we're getting smarter or we wouldn't be able to keep developing new technology.

That's not a 8th grade test in Georgia. Georgia test is a lot easier.

I've met a ton of people that were book smart. They would score a fat 0 on a common sense test. You'd think they had the education of an 8th grader under someone told you other wise.

This test is FAR easier than the 1800s one previously posted.

Man I missed some of that stuff. Although I didn't study geometry till 9th grade.

LOL 9/10 because I didn't read the last question all the way! I went to a school for the Talented and Gifted though! LOL!

Andy W. The problem with America is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

10/10. I found this test to be pretty frickin' easy, especially for the eighth grade.

10/10

I didn't realize they'd be allowed to do this with a calculator. The last one takes a little effort to do by hand.
