the factory tachs aren't as accurate as the aftermarket ones from what I've heard.... Which my autometer shift light does come on a few hundred RPM before the tach reaches the point where the light is suppose to come on...if that makes sense. But yeah, that tach is too big and, IMO only 'fast' cars should have them..... Originally posted by pole120: looks nice, but whatsthe purpose of having 2 tachs?

I personally think you have a lot going for the car. A few already mentioned things are holding it back(in my eyes). I agree you might reconsider painting the hood. Do a search under Cawong and take a look at his Silver SVT with carbon fiber hood and black/gunmetal wheels. Looks awesome! The painted IMRC Cover only looks cheap I think, if you are another Contour owner and know what you're looking for. I like the racing seats, but the steering wheel, monster tach, and floormats could go if it were mine, but it's not.. Different strokes for different folks, keep doing what you're doing. Good job on a unique SVT.

thats a sweet looking ride you got there. I bet it will look awesome with some axis se7en mods on there. I just picked up a set of Mods a few weeks ago. Just waiting for my wheel spacers to come in now. I have to agree with everyone else...ditch the HUGE tachometer. If you didnt have a tach to begin with, than maybe i would let it slide, but whats the point in having 2 tachs?

Stabler, Everyone that has said that and installed an aftermarket one realized that it's the computer output not the tach itself and they end up with two dials reading the same thing. I will give you that a shift light is a good idea.

I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment

I should have clarified, the people I've heard that from is the Mustang community, which I don't know if the Fox bodies are electrical like ours, or mechnical... We don't drive POS Mustangs, we drive POS Contours.
