Sorry but $2K is a little too much for me for a car that needs an engine.

I am not saying that you can't get $2K for it, I'm just saying that I'm not willing to buy a car that needs an engine for that much. After new motor install I'd be looking at $3,500+, and lately I've seen quite a few SVTs in the $3,500-$4,200 range. So if I want the SVT look I'd have to add around $1K for a painted kit plus other cost, (gauges, exhaust, leather) so in the long run I'd be better off to spend a little more on an SVT. From my point of view I couldn't see spending more than $800-$1,000 dollars on a car with a bad engine considering the body is still almost 10 years old.

I have a unique pre 98 for sale and it would whoop ass on an A4. View my profile and if you are interested let me know...I could let it slip for $7K.

Yes a 9 year old Ford compact car with no engine and over 100K miles is not worth $2000, when 1995-96 running Tours sell for $1500-2500.

Look in ebay for parts cars, Contours that need engines sell for $500 sometimes. And labor to install engines in FWD cars is $$$$.

get a running car

The car still runs and drives strong but it will sometime need a new motor and it never hurts to try...

Yes but for $7K there are plenty of other vehicles I'd take before a contour no matter how fast it is. I'm getting to the age where I just want a car that is fun to drive. I have other projects in the works to go fast in. Besides most of my extra $$$$ goes into my house or in the bank, not into my car.

What is it? It says it's still waiting approval.

I am guessing maybe a turbo zetec perhaps by looking at his previous posts.

His ad in classified says this: 1996 contour: Full Mondeo Combat Conversion, ~200bhp ~200ftlbs approximation based off June 03 dyno, extensive mods (dual exhaust, SAFC fuel controller, cam gears, all pulleys, 3" cold air intake, etc...)too much to list. View profile for pics.

With the A4s 190 horse, 207 torque, PLUS AWD, I can't believe that you would "whoop ass" on an A4.
