My point is Dell offers old technology, they don't create inivative designs, or fuel new technology,
Now this I can agree with.
But it's like complaining that Wal-Mart doesn't push the boundaries of the fashion world.
Dell makes PCs for the masses. The masses don't need 16x PCI-E, 256MB 9800 Pros, or the latest multi-processor system. They just need something that surfs the net and runs MS Word. They don't market their computers as much more than they really are -- cheap and good enough for most people.

they sell old stuff to unsuspecting buyers who say ohh $500 for a computer wow thats cheap. Yea, cheap! exactly as they thought, but not just the price, the computer and all.
You get what you pay for.
Dell doesn't mislead anyone -- that's quite different from your average salesguy at Best Buy who will tell you anything to get you to buy. If people don't become educated on their purchases that's not Dell's fault. If people think they're getting the same thing for $500 from Dell as the $2500 system from Falcon Northwest, they're going to get what's coming to them.
Do you get made at Kia for selling a $8000 Rio to people who don't know they're buying a piece of crap? If you don't know when you buy that $8000 Kia that you're not getting the speed of a $25000 Mustang or the reliability of a $40000 Lexus that's not Kia's fault.
But, as I sit here thinking about it, there's no company out there that makes PCs for the masses built from top-of-the-line components. IBM was probably the last bastion, and they left the market years ago.
Yeah, there's a few smaller companies like Alienware and Falcon Northwest that cater to hardcore gamers, but that's about it. And, yeah, there's some Mom-and-Pop's spread around here and there, but they're usually buying the Pricewatch special which is no better than what Dell is getting. And, yes, those places could make you a 'better' system -- but few people care enough to buy them, and it requires an education on the subject to know better, which puts us right back to where we started -- most people haven't a clue about the PC they're buying and really don't want to have a clue.
