The offer was good on the 700m and 8600, but they were pulled mid-afternoon.

I ordered a 600M at 7:15am yesterday. I was debatng between the 700M and 600m. 0.7 pounds heavier, but larger screen and larger keys.

I wouldn't call my configuration a realy cheap setup:
P M 1.5GHz
14.1" SXGA+ LCD
64MB ATI Radeon 9000
512MB RAM
XP Home
24X CDRW/DVD-ROM combo\
Dell media experiance w/ remote.
Integrated wired and wireless NIC, 56k modem
30GB HDD
Parallel, serial, VGA, S-video, 2 USB 2.0, 1 PCMCIA

$842 including tax and shipping, minus $49 rebate. Not too many 5 pound notebooks with a decent video chipset/dedicated RAM, and a mobile pentium chip for $800 shipped. There have been plenty of $600-800 laptops, but all have been 7-8pounds pigs with P4 Celeron or AMD Athon XP processors.

BMR, how did you configure a 600M with those specs for $2100?
