Part of the problem is that the US government sends mixed signals. Things like
this send a mixed signal to people coming into this country. We say no we don't want illegals but we kind of do because they work cheap and in areas like California no one will check them. Illegals can be mistreated, work under minimum wage, and have no recourse for this. That is to say, illegals are in danger also because they have no protections. I don't think illegals should have these protections, they just shouldn't be working here illegally. But when we close checkpoint we have one less way of stopping illegals getting hurt and working illegally. About the article, it is absurd to have a heart for the illegals who are put under "stress", god forbid they get caught without a license, drunk, with a possible weapon (if they are drunk).
