270hp at the crank maybe with tuning, double extrude hone intake manifold, headers and dual exhaust. With a 3L block and 2.5 SVT heads. About $1000 for a new 3L block from Ford.

$1000 for block, $600+ for headers, $1000 for true duals, $400 for extrude hone pass, port match everything, custom chip $400 and Apexi ($300?) to lean it out. Add labor if you aren't capable of doing this yourself. Doubt you could find a shop that would do all of this.

$3300 + labor sure you could have a 270 hp Contour. Or you could buy a 87-93 5.0 Mustang and $1000 you could smoke it. But you'll still be like everyone else.
