They did a story on this stuff on Inside Edition and our local news. They say the stuff works pretty good. I wouldn't do that anyway cause I don't speed and run lights.

why? because those stupid red light camera's should be illegal. They cause more accidents than they prevent. You're really in no danger of getting caught with it...if the camera can't see the numbers on the plate, then they can't identify the vehicle or the person driving it. That'd be the only reason i'd put it on my car.

I almost rear ended someone last winter because of those damn things. I was driving my Civic without ABS. The light turned yellow and the guy in front of me slammed on his brakes. There would have been plenty of time for both of us to pass through the yellow light. But he stopped and I couldn't, my tires locked up and if I didn't understand the concept of ebraking and power sliding I would have hit him dead on at 40mph. When I spun to a stop next to him he rolled down his window and said "sorry man, I diddn't want to get caught by the camera".

EFFING MORON!!!

Go ahead and buy it, but guess what- it counts the same as defacing a plate. Same thing if you decided to change the numbers on your plate. It is a wicked fine, much higher than one you would get for running a red light.

and it's clear, I don't think anyone's going to catch you unless they see you putting it on your liscense. if you get caught by a camera, they wont catch you cause they can't read your plate...if they can read it, well, then you haven't done anything illegal have you?

The camera's save cities from fribulous (did i spell it right) lawsuits. The city of Edmonds WA, has had seven suits in 2 years for intersections saying it was city lights, and city streets, and traffic patterns through certain intersections that make them dangerous. After the city being sued millions of dollars each time the city invested in camera's for all intersections big or small. The camera's at most interesctions can get your liscense plate number. Trust me, if you have ever been inside of a dispatch center, they have hundreds of tvs all over that show various intersections throught the city. Unforntely they don't se them to catch people running red lights, they use them for traffic lights, controlling who gets the green first. automatically changing the light, they also are able to find who caused the accident easier saving them tons of money.

They just passed a law here in Texas to make that stuff illegal, won't take long to go national. Not worth the fine in my opinion.

Sounds to me like you almost rear-ended the other car because you were following too closely.
