Well, the Tbird is much faster than my old Zetec Contour, but I sure loved the Contour's handling much more. I also like this forum SO much more than the TCCOA.Com forum, which is kinda, fully of vague answers, and one line posts.

That's my new Tbird, I like it a lot, and I plan to get a racing tranny sometime, and sell my tranny on a parts trader somewhere. So far, I just have the MSD wires in, but I have a CAI in mind, and a flowmaster cat back. Lots of parts for this car, such as headers, exaust kits, intake kits, body kits, *MANY* chips (My old TUB2 program for the Tour didn't have even ONE), etc.

The car has a few scratches on it, but nothing a little buffing can't get out.

That T-bird looks to be in nice shape.

I had an opportunity, once, to drive a SuperCoupe from Lake Berryessa to Sacramento. (Sometimes it pays to be the DD). Yeah, it was heavy, but it could move, and handling wasn't too bad, either on those mountain roads.

And yes, you will enjoy much greater aftermarket support.

Good luck.

About the trannies being terrible in those t-birds this is true. I had a '96 Thunderbird LX 4.6L and the tranny went out in it 2 times before 60K miles. I found out why. Ford uses Mercon (sp) 3 and you need to use Mercon (sp) 5. I will try to get my buddy on here to explain it better. But it's about Mercon 3 breaks down too fast or something. Which leads to broken tranny.
