I've had the Weapon R intake for about a year and a half with no problems. One thing that pushed me toward this intake and not kkm is the looks. For the heat soak problem they also sell a heat shield which would be simply adaptable for an SVT. They also sell a cold ram air kit which is bit more tricky to install took me a while but it works great if you ask me.

Looks like I'll have to invest in the heatshield since increase in temperature causes loss of power. I looked around and saw some pics of some handmade ones, anybody has any how-tos? I think the ol' home depot will do some contributing here :p Oh yeah, thanks for the welcome Derk2000

I just bought a 3.5"ID x 5" Big Mouth filter from www.intenseperformance.com It has a HUGE inlet trumpet that accelerates the air more smoothly than the normal S&B Powerstack filter that KKM sells. I mated that up with a BAT MAF adapter, and I have the BAT pipe too. I have yet to install it as the car is at the dealer getting the tranny rebuilt, but I hope to have it back today and then I will install it. I am going to make a new heat shield too, and with my hood scoop I should be getting high flowing cold air to the engine. I will posts pics when it is all done.

Hey Aussie,
Think we could go with one longer than 5 inches. I'm thinkin 6 or 7. At least without the bat pipe.
Heat soak is cause by heat and more importantly high humidity!
105 dry heat won't cause it but 85 with 90% humidity will.
