Notice KKM flow much better than stock SVT (in LBM or pounds of air/min but look at the 30F increase in intake air temp. Each 10F rise in IAT cost you 1% or 2 HP on the SVT . That would be 6HP lost to heatsoak without a heatshield. Pretty much cancels out the 4-6 HP you gained from better flow. This applies to all open air filters on the Tour and you can expect Weapon R to be worse because in addition it has the aluminum airtube that will add more heat to the air. On my dyno comparison, conical K&N flowed just slightly better than KKM but only above 6000 RPMs - negligable advantage unless you plan on upping redline. KKM is a good choice as is BAT adapter + conical K&N, but get or make a heatshield. .
