While he is an ignorant troll and all the Maxima and the VQ engine are both outstanding examples to use.
Mod for mod the Maxima is faster then the smaller engine'd SVT. The fact most years are lighter certainly helps. Now match engine sizes and an SVT will usually prevail or at least run stride for stride. (3L Duratec)
The engine is spectacular. It's made Ward's 10 best multiple times. (as has the Duratec & SVT Duratec)
It was on my short list when looking for a 4-door then also HAD to be a manual.
Also the year in question is the best body style (95-99 IIRC) to get. In the 2000's they changed to a larger, MUCH heavier, & chunkier looking body style.

ZX2 S/R - Your 1/4 mile times are a bit skewed. Several are much faster then general "bench racing" numbers found in the typical magazines.
We all know you can't compare non-corrected numbers verses others because the deviations are too high.
I've seen nearly stock Maxima's (filter & exhaust) run at 15 flat at the POS track here in KC.
The fastest one is 14.4 and has just some well chosen bolts ons. (Intake, JDM UIM/LIM, JDM PCM, Exhaust) That's very low 14's at any good track!
