First off, it's a SINGLE turbo-charged, direct-injection 2.3L 4 Cylinder. That article in Autoweek was wrong, wrong, wrong.

Second, the 4cyl was used for cost reasons as this is the "world" performance version of the 6. I believe it's called the Mazda 6 MPS in Europe and Japan. The 3L V6 is NA only. Much more costs involved with engineering/certifying 2 performance engines than just 1.

Third, this car will be the likely replacement for my aging CSVT.
