Sorry, I wan't clear. The coil is the original, there was nothing wrong with it AFAIK. What I meant by testing 5 and 6 for spark was that I didn't just use one wire to test for spark, in case there was something wrong with that. By testing at least 2 wires, from different coil groups, I was sure that there was no spark at all. I could test 4 or 1, the final coil group, but dollars to donuts there is no spark there either.
I suspect now (but what do I know, I turned a working car into an 'as is special'

) that there is a fault with power getting to the coil pack in the first place.
