Has anyone tryed Toyo's Proxes 4 tires? What rating from 1-10 would you give them in wet and hydro resistance?

My friend gave them a 4.6 ,, wait i don't have a friend. Umm chknhwk said the proxes 1 are good, but I think they're more of a summer tire. So if you NEED (if you don't have to have it, don't, cuz it just doesn't come close to a summer tire) a tire that is good in rain and stuff, the 4 would probably be good.

I have about 5,000 miles on a set of 205/55/16's. These are not as square shouldered as the Firestone SH-30's I had on before, so to me they appear to be a narrower tire for the same width. The ride is very smooth and quiet. The hydroplaneing resistance is good, but not noticeably better than the SH-30's,which where very good in the rain. Going from a nearly worn out tires, to new ones, the tires treads squirm, when you push the car in turns. Hopefully as they wear out the squirm will go away. They had some good reviews in the mags, Road and Track and Sport Compact.

I like the Proxes 4's. No problems in the rain, they handle very well.
Also note, these are my summer tires.
I'd give them a 10.

I had them as my previous tires. Dry and wet they were great. Winter they were horrible, but that's to be expected (the previous owner put them on). While they were terrific performing tires, they did where out VERY quickly (less than 20,000 miles).

Are you sure they were not the Toyo F4Z tires? The Proxes 4 tires just came out recently, I think.

Is there a summer tire that you would recommend over the Proxes 4 that has better dry/wet traction for about the same price?
