Yep. Sucks that the Contour ended up leveling a couple city blocks. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonono.gif) What is it with movies and blowing our cars up? Makes our Contours look bad instead of the good cars that they are. Jackass takes 'em to the derbies, Gone in 60 Seconds runs them into subdivision signs, and Arlington Road flat out blows 'em to pieces. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif) Oh well, Anna Nicole Smith didn't become a star by being good either. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif) -SAV

That would be a '97 GL

its retarded to take my picture then turn around and rehost it? ohh well your bandwidth not mine.
Now, its a 96, or 97. I believe the non painted mirros were on 97's also. But how can you be sure its a GL, versus an SE, or LX? I know which one it is, but whats your reasoning?

That car has no fog lights....LX's and SE's came standard with fog lights. That and the badge on the trunk just looks like it says GL.
As far as the year...I'm going to have to say I'm not too sure anymore. I was under the impression that the non-colored mirrors were just on 97 models, but after looking at the FAQ again I see that it indicates black mirrors were on the '96 GL. In Canada the colored mirrors were standard for '95 & '96 models so that's probably how I got confused.

What about the 2, yes I said 2 Contours during the traffic dodging on Dodgeball : The underdog story. I had to make sure so I did slo-mo and freeze frame but there are indeed 2 Contours.

My 96 GL Sport (teal) and a girls 95 GL plain-jane (only option was power locks, also teal) both had body colored mirrors (and zetec autos) Personally I've never seen the flat black mirrors (or didn't notice). Mine was also a rental car to begin with, so fleet vehicles is not the case.
Maybe they were on the totally basic (no power windows/locks/etc.) models...

Well I never watched the movie, the pic says for itself that they damaged the car. Sorry if I'm Captain Obvious, but my point is, budgets don't call for wrecking Ferraris and Lamborghini's unless they KNOW the movie will sell; a baseline Contour seems cheap enough to roll downb a cliff, eh?
Just my input. Interesting thread.
