Looked into buying an SVT straight up, and the cost was... a little high ($5995 with 88k miles) and insurance is still about $500 a month if I get it, so I am thinking about waiting, and buying one at auction before I transfer to my next college next year. That leaves me with $150 still, so I am really looking into buying a CTA intake, but when I searched for info, all I found was poo about heat problems. Will it hurt my car if I install the CTA intake without adding a heat shield of some sort? Or is it just poor performance? And if the heat shield is required, could I get some pointers? I am really new to this whole "car modification" thing, and any tips would help. (Search Nazi's back off, I searched a bum-load and didn't find the info I ask of now.)
