I think it's a bit late this year to do anything significant. But, I have an awful lot of crud on the glass, which has been waxed over, probably drive through car washes that don't get off all the dirt, but lay another coat of wax over top. It's a b!tch to get off.

I could use dawn carefully on the glass I s'pose, cuz I need clear glass at least for the winter. I tried a few glass cleaners (the foaming aerosol types, and the wipes) and I'm still not happy with the glass. But, any of you guys ever used rubbing compound on your glass?

Cheers,

BTW I may just cop out, and get it detailed when I go for my rustproofing this weekend. At least keep the car's paintwork coated with wax over winter.

Friends of mine swear by Bon Ami household glass cleaner. No ammonia and it's foam. Strips crap off of household glass...so it could work on auto glass.

I have a bottle of Zaino Glass Polish/Cleaner. It's very grainy and abrasive. Kinda stinks but it does get down deep.

Been thinking about finding someone to buff and polish mine. It is an art to it it right. Soooooooooooo easy to burn the paint. Best to get an old junkyard door/ fender, etc and get some practice in first to get the touch down, before you try it on a loved one.
