We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the street lights came on.
OMG, forgot all about that.. Out of the house by 8am and back when the streetlights came on (around 945pm) in summer. Yep, ran by the house during the day for a hit of koolaid and a peanut butter sandwich - hear mom yell "don't slam the door, take your snack and go outside, I just cleaned the floor".
I suppose those of us who were born long before 1984 would remember the days when we would ride our bikes all day - every day and wear the tires down to bald during summer vacation.
