'83 here, I most fondly remember the adventure of going to the White Hen an trying Crystal Clear Pepsi... ok so it wasn't that great but as a kid I bought into the hype for five minutes.

'85 here, I remember doing most of that stuff, but sorry to sound juvenile here, but please remember that you guys really can't be too harsh on us for growing up in the society we live in today. After all, you are now the "adults" and you are the ones making laws, complaining to school boards, creating our games, giving us safety precautions in all facets of life, etc. I still led a pretty average childhood, went crawdad fishing, played football in my bud's basement, listened to explicit CD's hidden under my bed, and all that stuff, just saying that it's YOUR world kids today live in, not ours.

'78 Baby!
I personaly think all safety equipment and warnings need to be removed from products for a few years,
help natural selection move along a little faster.

One time I drank water outta this hole that went outta a curb into the street. It was really cold and tasted good. I think it was run off for a pool or the water fountains on the golf course. I shoulda died from it probably but I was really thirsty.

in 8th grade were going to various "jump spots" and doing/attempting gnarly bmx tricks, without helmet, pads, etc... i never broke anything and cant remember anyone out of the tons of fellow bmxers who ever did.
the only time i wore a helmet was when i went to an actual ABA race track and didnt like it. i actually thought it impaired my sense of orientation.

i remember climbin around all inside the car while going down the highway in our wagon and being encouraged to play/take a nap in the back to get away from my sister in the back seat.

making a home-made sled and riding it down the stairs.

how about making a treehouse with your friends using a hammer, nails and scrap wood. not like the professional stuff you in magazines at home depot that cost your parents $10k.

how about playing with firecrackers and firewords. here in LA, we practically have to use flashlights for fireworks on the 4th now! guess that's what we get for living in the city with the most lawyers in the world.

going out to dinner was an actual occasion. now its an actual occasion to have home made meal together as a family.

i could go on for days....

Personal fireworks have been illegal in MA for as long as I can remember.... that's nothing new!

Yeah, 1973 here. A lot of the things I did as a kid are seen in a TOTALLY different light now.

I remember when I 1st had my license back in 1990. My car was a 1976 Grand Torino station wagon, 351M, 3-speed FMX, 9" Rear . Anyhow, that Halloween, we loaded up the car with 1 person out each window (4 in total, including 1 out the rear) armed with Paintball guns. We went around shooting people we new, some we didn't.

If we got caught doing that now, we would be in jail and it would be posted all over the net. Back in 1990, it was not really a big deal.

Born in 1972! Memories...

Flipping my little red wagon.
Doing spinouts on my Big Wheel.
Making dams in the creek, catching crawdads.
Making bike ramps in the street out of old boards and 2x4s.
Riding my skinny skateboard (with metal wheels!) down our steep street(pads? helmets? what the hell were they?)
Riding our bikes everywhere, making trails on wooded lots.
Blowing up model cars with good ol'fireworks straight from South Carolina (couldn't get the good stuff in Virginia).
Making cannons out of tennis ball cans.
Seatbelts? Just something that got in the way every time you climbed into the backseat.
My kindergarten used VW buses for transportation. Us kids used to fight for the spot behind the backseat on top of the engine cover.
Four door cars? Not my family. I remember going to Daytona Beach in my mom's 1975 Ford Elite. My parents piled in three kids and luggage into that car.
I was brought home from the hospital in a 1972 Pinto Runabout (good thing I was too young to remember that).
We first got cable in the late '70s, thirteen channels and HBO. I remember watching the Amityville Horror and being scared sh!tless.
I got paddled in the first grade for talking in gym.
Yeah, our family had a remote control for the TV in the 70s and 80s, ME! Dad would tell ME to turn it to channel 13.
I got my license in 1988. My first car was a 1968 Mustang fastback. I sold it seven years ago for $4K.
