I have heard many references to grinding the 3.0L crank to allow it to mate up to the SVT Contour transmission. I can't see any difference in dimensions between the 2.5L and the 3.0L cranks. Are these references to the bushing that fits into the crank end or the crank itself?

The goal is to not have too much crank sticking through the flywheel. How much that means depends on your particular transmission.

I.E. Match it to your 2.5L crank and you will be fine...
