I find it hard to believe the United States developed its forces based on expected allied support. If that is true, then it is a blunder of historic proportions, since it would be seemingly unprecedented in history.




There were many other reasons why we did not believe we'd need an outstanding large force capable of invading and occupying a nation entirely on our own, the expectation of allied assistance if the need ever arose is only one reason.
