this reminds me of a broadband commercial they have here where some guy is throwing a party and his dial-up isn't working. he mentions it and everyone points at him and starts laughing and saying "you still use dial-up? ha ha ha"

Haven't seen a dialup connection used since I went to a friend's house senior year of high school. And even then I was shocked to remember how long pages loaded (at the time we had high speed less than a year.)

Even my parents are getting cable and they live in BFE. The only reason I don't have it at home is because I'm on it enough at work.

i had nightmares while being on it! my brand new laptop w/ dial-up, i kept getting disconnected! it would take forever to view the simplest things--forget about video!
its a lot cheaper though for the folks who dont feel like shellin out for dsl or cable or whatever. the prices are dropping significantly and soon enough, dial up will go the way of the beeper (remember those?!? we thought we were the sh*t in high school with beepers! now elementary school kids have cell phones...)
