If any of you who have purchased an aftermarket intake pipe for their V6 (SVT or non-SVT), I'm looking for a stock V6 intake pipe from the 98-00 Duratecs with 4 ports which include the IAT sensor for when I need to relocate my IAT Sensor. If any of you are willing to give up your stock pipe, please email me: rm.taylor@verizon.net

Thanks,
Ryan

Ryan,
Excuse me for being dumb if that is in fact what I am doing, but if you have a standard Duratec, why is it that you are looking for other owners of standard Duratecs for a replacement?(and yes I know you have a pre-98 and are looking for 98-00) You will not find a provision for the IAT in ANY non-SVT stock intake pipe, so anyone owning a standard run of the mill Duratec will not be able to help you. I have posted in the classifieds already looking for one, and I think that is where this post should go as well, but I will keep my thoughts to myself and my mouth shut and let the almighty moderator laugh make that decision. What you are looking for is strictly an SVT intake pipe. However, the aftermarket ones that BAT offers do offer better flow... look into those as an alternative if nothing turns up.

Well, among my readings in here and aftermarket parts for sale, they did switch up the intake pipe on the later model 98-00 to attach the IAT sensor into the pipe instead of the airbox. My friend's dad has a 00 I believe with the 4 port intake pipe. I may be wrong however, so I guess I'm striving for someone to prove me wrong smile

Ryan,
I am not wanting to really "prove" anything... I am just trying to help you out here on this so you dont get stuck with a part that you already had in the first place. Regardless of my info, on a few occasions I have been known to be mistaken... if indeed the 2000 model standard Duratech has the 4 port intake pipe, let me know because it would give me a better range of places to go for this provision. Just trying to help you out here.

The '99's don't, that's for sure. All year SVT's had them, I think that's where you should be looking...

No no no, I don't mean that you're trying to prove me wrong. That was just an encouragement to those who know exactly who has what to tell me so since I don't know. I appreciate your reply dude!

Here is the answer.

Only the SVT's had the 4 port inlet boots. All non-SVT's had the IAT mounted in the airbox.

It's cool Ryan.... and you are welcome for the input. By my previous post I was simply trying to avoid insulting a person who is looking for an honest answer, that's all.... have found a lot of good people here on these boards who are willing to lend a helping hand wherever they can, and I am just trying to be one of them. Peace smile

I totally agree fenderman, people like DemonSVT. I trust every answer from this man so I guess I know what I need to find smile

I actually had a reasonable thought tonight. That worthless plastic resonator that is in the IAC Valve path that acts like a T-connector on our Duratecs...I'm thinking make a hole in the top of that the size of the IAT sensor...and stick the IAT sensor in the top of the resonator. After all it collects the clean air the IAT needs to read from... Does this sound doable?
