I don't think it's laziness as much as it is an unfamiliarity with the CEG culture. Other forums on the internet are not such a treasure chest of information as the CEG is, so most users who don't know better are naturally going to ask before they search.

its laziness. CEG is easy on the laziness thus, it has turned into a problem for the people who have been around. For example, at SVT Performance we don't put up with stupidity. They are fed to the wolves so we don't have such problems to the degree this place does.

I can understand that. What urks me though is the generallity of most of these questions. "what is the best intake for my car", "has anyone put a turbo on their car", etc, etc.. And as we know, as the age of our cars goes up, the age of the average owner goes down. Thankfully there has been a TON of information provided by a lot of the long time CEG'ers and the people that have modified by trial and error. Now there's an encylopedia of How-To's, FAQ's and other information that people continue to piss away. It's like having an open book test at school, yet the kids still get mad at the teacher because they won't just tell them the answer. I'll stop beating this dead horse because I know that in 5.4.3.2.1 there's gonna be another senseless question asked.

I like this analogy. Moderators put stickied threads at the top of the page for a reason: so our forums dont become cluttered with the same question over and over and it provides helpul information to your questions . Why cant newbies learn to read them?!

That's quite a good quote!

The best part is not only is it absolutely true but the attitudes of the people that are TOO DAMN LAZY to search doesn't make you want to help them anyway.

Plus there are at least 7-10 websites with highly detailed information of most commonly asked questions or 3L related information. I know; I have one of them. Do people ever even look for the information themselves...

I've probably typed the answer to 95% of the questions 20 times. I even label my headers with the Information/Question/Answer
It should freakin' easy to find most anything by searching. Unfortunately most of society is just too freakin' lazy or stupid to do it themselves.

i agree totally that it is annoying that people don't do the research. my point is...is it really necessary for everyone and there brother to contribute their favorite search nazi crap. just ingnore the newbs, they will search eventually! that also prevents those of us who do read and search from reading excessive nonsense. it is all these nonsense posts that make our search function a rediculous utility. if they weren't forced to sift through all the garbage that is returned in a search, they would feel much more inclined to search in the first place! imagine that!!

No he's right, you use the SVT pistons in the 3L block. This drops you down to 0 compression and you can put 95lbs of boost through it no problem. Quite a motor!

who wants to read this kind of garbage anyways.

NO!

Why you ask?

Because then you get all the idiotic, stupid, completely full of bullsh~t responses that clutter up the forums with incorrect misinformation.

It's a LOSE/LOSE situation. Damned if you don't, Pissed because you have to.

IMO all the commonly asked questions that are reposted should be immediately deleted so you don't get 10 responses full of misinformation or 20 responses saying SEARCH YOU LAZY LOSER.

Plus it would save bandwidth and make actual searching much, much easier.

I'll gladly volunteer to do the deleting!!!
