The Focus has played during a session or two at the past two On Track events. It really gives you an appreciation of how well our cars handle...and how many bad habits you pick up during daily driving.

Fern and SVTForMe - Glad to hear you guys had a great time at IRP. Now for you two, timeless, and others...LET'S SEE YOU OUT AT OUR ON TRACK IN 2005

You know....I'd be much more willing to go to IRP and some of the other events if I had a tow vehicle. I'm pretty sure I can get acess to a trailer from time to time but my main issue is that with the way I drive the car on track my luck is going to run out sooner or later and a 900 mile tow bill isn't too appealing to me

Here you loud and clear. I made the decision to move to a tow vehicle about two years ago. Now I am looking to upgrade to an SUV. Wanna take over a cheap lease on a four door pick up? Two years left and only about $420 mth tax in...

Aaron, you don't need to have an SVT to be part of SVTOA now!

Ford changed their membership criteria. To better encompass SVT's involvment in other Ford divisions and reflect a global family structure, SVTOA has now been opened up to anyone with a Ford family vehicle. This includes:

- Ford
- Lincoln
- Mercury
- Mazda
- Volvo
- Jaguar
- Aston Martin
- Land Rover
- (I'm sure you can throw in Merkur)

What's really nice to see is how diverse (and similar) the Ford and SVTOA family has now become.

I'm not even going to ask what you're thinking of (non-Ford or import)

His tow vehicle is already a non-ford anyway.

Unfortunately Ford is not a leader in the fuel economy race with either their pick ups or their SUVs. Dodge is even worse. I am looking at GMC again.. potentially an Envoy. I only wish that the Big 3 made some lighter duty diesel trucks liek they used to in the past. 6000lb pick ups that easily get 22 or 23 Mpg are just amazing. Imagine what a smaller diesel engine in a lighter pick up or SUV could do? Unfotunately none are coming to market in the near future.

Fern the new F-150's are great on gas. When I worked for Ford doing the ride and drive tour last fall and we got like 800km to a full tank of gas. I remeber filling up the hemi after 400km and the F-150 still had about half a tank left. I do know that my friend at Whiteoak Frod can give you a good deal one too PM me if you want more details or if you are comming to the meet tomorrow I'l give you one of his business cards. Oh the new F-150 is a half ton that can tow a tone and a half (3000lbs in the bed or can tow 6000lbs thanks to the suspension which is borrowed from the super duty).
