I have never used transparencies so I wouldn't know. I'm really interested in this. Even if ink is durable I would take it to my work and print it out on a colour laser instead. (GREAT working in electronics retail! )
As with all ink jet printing, it will fade over time. The more eliments you exspose the ink too, the faster it will fade.
As for using a color laser printer... that would be the way to go, because the printer lays a layer of silicon on the document as it exits the fuser. This allows for much longer life of the print.
