Well, from Brad Noon and bicycle019. Have you ever torn down a toasted 2.5 Mr all knowing technician? And hey, if you are so all knowing about TVD why didn't you guys figure out that the 2.5 durtec needed a dual mode damper to begin with - o wait 'cause it's ford who specifies your engineering constraints and you just build the stuff...

Where do you think that most of this info came from originally??? I really don't understand why there is so much hostility towards someone that has been consistently preaching the same thing, and now finally we are all catching on. Think about it from Judge's view, he has been telling us a lot of stuff over and over and over.....I for one am glad he is here because without his input we would be way behind in learning about our engine and it's harmonics.

You know that Judge knows his $hit when our resident CDW-27 expert, Terry Haines, refers people to Judge when they have questions about engine harmonics and dampers. So unless you have more intimate knowledge of engine harmonics and dampers, I suggest you seriously rethink your hostility towards Judge...he is THE expert in this subject and deserves more respect than that for his contributions.

Yea, I kinda own two busted azz 2.5L engines with trashed bearings at Haines Motorsports. Ford did not specify that a dual mode was necessary. We showed the benefits to them after months of tests to find the "right" frequency. So Mr. I don't know my azz from a hole in the ground....

And as far as engineering constraints: Ford does not place them on us, because we usually go to the to show them a fix for the problem. They send us specs on prototype engines (i.e. not even an engine built yet) and we tell them the resonant freq. of it. We build the tuning set, and test their engine as soon as they get one on a dyno. Ford calls us to test their engine in their facility to tell them what RPM to run a durability test at to make sure they are doing it at its most damaging freq. They wanna make sure they do the most damage they can in the shortest amount of time possible. SO do not sit there and give someone credit for the months I spent in the friggen dyno testing these cars. You do not know a damn thing about the auto industry, about engine harmonics, or basic mechanics as far as I can tell. I not only work in the engineering fiels, I hold a master auto mechanic certification as well as a master heavy equipment cert to boot.

You call this questioning someone you asshole? Seems more like the beginnings of a flame so shut the hell up for once. p.s. we were the ones that figured out it needed a dual mode, not Ford....asshole

"work in the engineering field" so obviously you're the expert.

Only people I ever met in the engineering field who get so defensive to questions are idiots or assholes - or maybe people planning to try and sell you something.......

Sad part is, you do actually have some good data for people, if you just weren't such a putz to everyone who questions you

I'm a bit confused by your response here, the tech has been hashed out here, in public. Why do you continue to question? did you not understand the first time? Though he is a friend of mine, and he is no intellectual god (by any stretch) but he knows a he11 of a lot more about this subject than I do, and more than everyone else on the board. Terry comes close because of his vast experience on the subject, but he STILL refers to Judge on this matter.
And its not as if this hasn't been beaten to death here either, the tech on this has been discussed and re-discussed ad nauseum, with all sides voicing opinions, experience, thoughts etc.

Umm, and you know what, people that have studied an issue and spent a great deal of time testing it to understand it and come up with a workable solution often defend their work vehemently as well. From what I've seen, only idiots and ***holes continue to question something that has been inarguably proven to be true, hmm I guess that would put you in that category you put Judge into, go figure.

Fight!!! Fight!!! Fight!!!

Come on Scott, you were wrong to question Judge in this case. You took his post about "wonder where that info came from" out of context as he was referring to his engines being the ones, or some of the ones that Terry mentioned in the post above his... Not to mention his group improved the dampers causing so much of the destruction...
