It would be kinda funny at this point if Dan Nixon told the group who he talked to the other day and what he learned...... laugh

Rara: expressway wheelies at 120mph are socially acceptable as far as I am concerned. I can keep the bike under total control.....and have I told you what life looks like at 170mph on a city street? eek

I guess you were right Judge. Brian said that this kind of BS would happen & its a damn shame. Brian and Terry have "educated" me on this subject. They have shown us the way to reduce or eliminate THE MAJOR problem of the Duratec. They were not obligated to say a word - just trying to help and are probably 2 of only a handful of people in the auto industry that could/would have figured this out. We are DAMN FORTUNATE to have them here. I only wanted to summerize the highlights of my numerous (probably annoying) questions to these 2 and at the Cougar board in to a final "JUST GET THE DAMN DUAL MODE DAMPER" comment and hope all would read it and at least know the options.

Scott, you are way off base here. Just let it go man. I want CEGers to find this thread a useful one.

Ya know Perry I have never even tried to do it on one wheel. I usuall do not loft the front tire until I am doing at least 60 on my R1. I like the front tire spinning to help balance the bike (gyroscopic effect). But I am not oposed to trying it laugh
Scott, just drop it man. Everyone is seeing that you are an ass....

OK, so is there a difference in the balancers for the automatic vs. stick?

What about SVT vs. non-SVT?

Having said that, I have a 95 SE Auto, and my engine grenaded shortly after they replaced the oil pan and front main seal to fix a leak under warranty. Could they have reinstalled the harmonic balancer incorrectly somehow. (I don't see how, as far as I know it is integral to the serpentine pulley, and I don't see how you could reinstall it incorrectly and have it function at all.... unless they forgot the key or something....)

What is the part number for the balancer that I should swap mine out with? (Again, 95 SE Automatic). How involved is this? I'm thinking that I should be able to remove the RF wheel and shroud, and get to it from there.....?
