I had the auto trans on my T-Bird rebuilt a short time ago & it cost me $1,200 , so I guess that price isn't that far off . It sucks , but I guess that's what it costs . Maybe comparing FWD and RWD is an apples & oranges discussion , but that's all I have to go on . I'd still look around a little bit just to try to find a better deal . Till you buy one off e-bay , pay shipping and then pay someone to install it , it's no cheaper . For just a rebuilt it's an average price, not high and not low. If ya think about Phoenix Rebuilt in AZ (the one that keeps offering their stuff on Ebay) think about a possibility when u have to deal with them if something goes wrong - are u gonna ship the tranny back and forth to/from Phoenix? If the price does include install - good price without any doubt. MY CAR
