I had the auto trans on my T-Bird rebuilt a short time ago & it cost me $1,200 , so I guess that price isn't that far off . It sucks , but I guess that's what it costs . Maybe comparing FWD and RWD is an apples & oranges discussion , but that's all I have to go on . I'd still look around a little bit just to try to find a better deal . Till you buy one off e-bay , pay shipping and then pay someone to install it , it's no cheaper . Plus you have no real warranty to speak of .
