Can't mention country music with out saying hick. Hey, lets wear skin tight pants, cowboy boots and button up shirts and think we're straight. Hey, check out my truck with the 6 inch lift kit and big mud tires. Can't forget to check out my new system, here I'll put on some Garth Brooks, it bumps! Oh, check out my John Deere exhaust I put on and my way to loud pipes! Louder the pipes = smaller the penis.

Sorry if I offended anyone, just had to say that with all the people hating on rap.

I don't really understand your post. I like all kinds of music and the type of music someone likes doesn't always reflect on what kinda person they are. But if you wanna talk like that:::

Can't mention rap without saying ghetto. Hey, let's wear pants that are 10 times too big that keep falling down, shoes that cost more than a college textbook and go outta style every month, and shirts and jerseys that go to our ankles and think we look cool or "pimp" as they say. Hey check out my 1980 caddy with 24"s that might as well be a lift kit they make the car sit so high. Can't forget to check out my new system, here I'll put on some Fiffy Cents, it bumps! Oh, check out my Ghetto Flowmaster exhaust I put on and my way to loud pipes! Louder the pipes = smaller the penis.

My top 5 favorites include:
1. ice cube.....................especially Lethal Injection
2. snoop deeohdoublegee.........esp Dogg House
3. doc dre......................esp The Chronic
4. Public Enemy.................esp Nation of Millions
5. LL Cool J....................esp Greatest Hits

*never really did like Tupac* overall, i think Ice Cube is the most talented rapper with Snoop right behind him. Dre is the most talented producer, hands down. IMHO

yeah, i guess you can say i prefer the old stuff. i think the new stuff has some occasional good hits but nothing compared to the older stuff. Now i mostly listen to just rock music or my old rap cds when bumpin.

watching the VH1 special "30 years" (watched it a few times now) is like going back in time! i remember when Run DMC blew up. with their crazy unlaced shoes. that was when hip hop realllly start to get into its prime.

i think VH1 should a show like "i luv the 80s strike back" in which they go through rap, year by year. i think it would be a big hit! and they would be able to cover every group/artist that was a real contribution to the movement. this series they have right now cant possibly do that within the time constraints.

anyone ever watch "Pump it Up!" on Friday nights around 11pm in the early 90s on FOX? it starred Dee Barnes who was a member of a rap group (oaktowns 357?) and also the woman who sued Dr. Dre for a couple of million for slapping her. anyway, i watched that show religiously. I was introduced to many underground and up-and-coming rappers thanks to that show. They also gave out free cassette singles every week if you wrote in and asked for one.

I like the Breakin' soundtrack.

Breakin' 2 isn't bad, either.

anyone else think "Honey" was a soft rip-off of breakin'? i didnt see this lamo movie but from the previews alone i could see the similarities in the plot lines.

I have or maybe had Breakin on LP. I even paid to see that movie in the theatre!

I also owned the soundtrack to Miami Vice on vinyl as well!

Breakin 2 sucked!

Definitely some of the best hip-hop out there in my opinion(referring to the Roots). Plus, check out Immortal Technique of the NY underground and you can't forget the Pharcyde for creative rhymes/beats. Other than that, though, the state of hip hop/rap in America is pretty bleak.
