You can't really go wrong with the 6 or the Legacy. Hard to find anything wrong with either of them, except for small quibbles. I guess you could say the styling of the 6 is a little boxy/clunky (compared to a Contour, at least), and the Legacy wagon feels a little heavier than necessary. But they are both mechanically excellent.
Still, I say keep the Contour as long as you can.
