Ford has a famous reputation for poor quality starts on new cars. By the time they fix all the problems in year 2 or 3, the damage is done and people avoid them. And then a couple years after that they give a couple years notice that they are killing the car. Which means that you have cars sitting on the lots since nobody wants to touch them. The Focus is selling well despite it build quality only because its price point is pretty low. Bump it up one class (like the Contour) and then you have a real problem.
Quality should be job one. And better dealers should be job 2. ha ha ha
